Indiv. Advising

Due to PLATO's limited staffing, we are unable to provide individual advising to students until they are in the process of selecting law schools. Prelaw students should attend the open and free workshops to get basic, general information about law school, personal statements, and resumes. Students should also visit the LSAC.org website and become familiar with the information available there. You must assume personal responsibility for familiarizing yourself with the information on the prelaw website and the LSAC website.

Personal statement reviews can be done by the writing center. The Office of Career Services can provide advice on resume writing.

A pre-law advisor will meet individually with students AFTER they have taken the LSAT and are narrowing their school selections.

If you have (a) taken the LSAT, (b) have received your score, and (c) have developed a list of potential law schools to which you may apply, you may schedule an individual appointment with a pre-law advisor to discuss your best application options. You may also meet with a pre-law advisor to discuss your ultimate law school selection once you have been offered admission.
